NRDC
The Natural Resources Defense Council works to protect people, the places they live, and the natural resources they depend on. We work with communities, businesses, and government leaders to achieve results that maintain and restore the balances that are essential to the health and future of the Earth and its inhabitants.
Founded in 1970, NRDC is a national non-profit organization that uses law, science and the support of more than 1.2 million members and online activists to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.
NRDC fights for tough standards like the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, and works to make sure politicians and big corporations stick to the rules. NRDC lawyers have forced dozens of polluters like ARCO and Texaco to clean up and pay large fines. At the same time, our cooperative collaboration with 200 companies like Starbucks and Home Depot help make our planet a safer, healthier place for people and wildlife alike.
