About Bill Shontz
Bill Shontz, presents a perfect show for PSEG's Global Green Expo 2008. Performances are on Sunday April 27th at Noon and 2pm.
He is an icon in the Children's and family market, from his twenty years with RosenShontz, and a Spokesperson for EARTHWATCH and Green Up Vermont. He is also the founder and CEO of the "Children's Music Hall of Fame" web site, providing the best in children's and family music from around the world. (www.childrensmusichalloffame.com).
A true family show, this will appeal to grown-ups as well as children of all ages (not just the "Little tykes"). Bill will appear with his "Green Up Band" and will have his slide presentation on hand, featuring slides from EARTHWATCH, his own photos and others, for an exquisite display. With the words to some of his songs on the slides, everyone will be singing along with reckless abandon, right from the start!
Some original songs will include "Green UP", sung on his award winning album with the likes of Tom Paxton, Tom Chapin, Bob from Sesame Street and more. Also "One Earth", sung on his album with Leah Salonga (Les Mis') will be included. Bill's Band will include first rate musicians such as, Jenifer Condon vocals (Abba Revue) and Dwayne Condon vocals and piano (Robert Shaw Chorale). There's a good chance that some of Bill's friends will show up to join in as well!
Old favorites such as Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land" will be on tap as well as the "Garden Song", "Garbage" and more.
Come, join in, sing along, be a part of this inspirational show to help make our country and our planet Green!
"Bill's instrumental diversity and the quality of his accompanying musicians carried his environmental awareness message across effectively with dignity and excellent musicality. His rapport with such a large and diverse audience is another outstanding feature of his style. Bill's ability to control audience volume, spirit and musical awareness during his interactive songs is just terrific. I'm glad to have a chance to add my voice to the Green Up movement in colorful praise of Bill Shontz's growing artistry (and that's no garbage either!)." M. Sue Iovieno, Visual & Performing Arts Coordinator, Mansfield, MA
