Remsen Dodge in Hazlet is New Jersey’s dealer for GEM-Global Electric Motorcars, a Chrysler company. GEM has been in operation for ten years. Global Electric Motorcars manufactured its first vehicle in April 1998, a 48-volt GEM car that accommodated two passengers and had a top speed of 20 mph. Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEV’s) like GEM, can be driven on public roads 35 MPH and under, a benchmark in the industry.
